Synthia sits in the hotel room. "Sy" is her nickname. She remembers that. Her sister gave her that nickname. Her sister is why she is here in this strange place. This place of glass and steel. She has been here many times, and each time she remembers less and less of herself from afar. The realm makes you adapt. Thats what Steve tells her. Steve tells her that she told him that before they crossed over. So strange to hear something echoed by another that you dont remember yourself.
Steve seems to recall everything from the world they come from. He spouts strange phrases and tells her that she owes him a lot of money where they come from. Something tells her that is a lie. She has vague memories of Steve from before. He was someone important to her back in their realm. She remembers being in his home several times. And she knows Terrance. He is more familiar. His talents as a bodyguard reflect his persona. He is a protector. Unlike Sy, who is a killer. She knows the blade well. She makes it an exstension of herself. She knows she will find Mauria. She knows it because this time she will die before leaving her behind again. This mission is to be her final act as Samurai to her sister, who is also her Shogun. Seppaku is the only way Sy will give up this time.

I am keeping this journal as record of my attempts to get my sister back. If I fail at this I am resigned to end my service to her in the tradition of a samurai. This will be my only record of my deeds. So far we have met up with members of Dept. 7. They are connected to the Hoffman Institute. The Hoffman Instititute as cover acts as a group trying to unravel the mysteries of the universe. This is partly true. They already know some secrets and are protecting mankind from them. They investigate shadow primarily and are interested in defeating its agents meaning man harm. My father is one such agent. Who has my sister Mauria. We have determined that Mauria is somehow being used because of her now divine blood given to her by this cup of the Christ. Somehow my father and hers wants her to open up seven seals that are reputed to open the world to the realm of Hell and end the world. This children from Dept 7 I know them from my previous visits to Earth. Some of them are my students from when they were teens. Now they are young men and women. I must remember not to get attached. If they die, then they die. I cannot have feelings about any of this. If I get emotional, I will make mistakes. It has been my emotions that have led to my losing my sister in the first place.
We have left Israel after talking with the old man, David Davidovich Yereshenko. He tells us of a place in the Carpathian Alps that he saw in the war. It housed a great evil. It may even be one of the seals. He thinks the germans broke it partially in their effort to gain treasure. In their greed they released a foulness. A tempest that leaves misery in its wake. An aspect of War itself. And something else, a powerful priest or mage that killed all the Germans and many of the Russians in the village. The village was blocked off by order of the leader at the time Stalin. He made no record of the village after the war and made sure it didnt appear on any maps. We know where it is, and we are going there to see if Mauria is following the same trail.
